Job description

Reporting to the Production Coordinator, the Foreman is responsible for supervising and coordinating all activities and resources related to daily production operations during his shift. He/she plans, organizes, directs and controls all operations related to processing in the plant. He/she is also responsible for supervising activities related to receiving and shipping merchandise. Be a pillar for the production team.

More specifically, the Foreman will

  • Ensure that daily production results are achieved on their shift in partnership with the production coordinator and team leaders.
  • Ensure the distribution of purchase orders to optimize the material and human resources at their disposal and ensure compliance with shipping deadlines according to the 'just in time' principle.
  • Distribute and balance the workforce on the different workstations according to the production and workload requirements.
  •  Regularly verify that the procedures and work methods correspond to the quality standards in effect and make the necessary follow-ups with the quality coordinator.
  • Be responsible for ensuring constant communication with the Production Coordinator, Transportation Manager and Team Leaders regarding production schedules and production progress.
  • Ensure Human Resources management during their shift in terms of new employee integration, disciplinary measures, conflict management and performance evaluations in partnership with the Human Resources Coordinator and the Production Coordinator.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety standards, take charge of work accident management and be actively involved in prevention with the Health and Safety Manager.
  • All other related tasks.

Desired Skills

  • 3 to 7 years of supervisory experience in a plant or manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge in mechanics and industrial maintenance (an asset)
  • Experience with continuous improvement (an asset)

Required Training

  • Training in administration, production or personnel management (an asset)
  • Valid driver's license
  • Class 1 (an asset)
